The West Indies Regatta is a three day event held annually over the Mayday weekend in St. Barth celebrating traditional West Indian sail. More of a wooden boat festival than a competative regatta, the purpose of the event is to promote & encourage traditional boatbuilding in the Caribbean.
This second year (2010) there was sailing on 5 Carriacou Sloops from Antigua, a Carriacou Sloop from Anguilla and the last schooner built on the beach in Nevis, Alexander Hamilton. We also had parties with live music & slideshows on the dock and model boat races with David Wegman. Once again LIVE on SATURDAY NITE @ LE SELECT was the New York Funky JAzZ band of TUEY CONNELL
Many thanks to all our sponsors and supporters who continue to help make this event such a success!
